Hi there and welcome, lovely reader!
Way back in 2011, a friend suggested I start a blog to share the adventures – and quite possibly the misadventures – of an impending six-week European journey.
“Why not?” said I.
And so Indulge Divulge was born.
Somewhere between packing the suitcase, pounding European pavements and enthusiastically oversharing my discoveries, I caught the writing bug. Badly.
Of course, a girl can only travel so often – or so I thought back then – at least until she finds her suave, sophisticated, rich and famous silver-haired fox with a penchant for travel and, ideally, a private jet or yacht on standby.
Update: Found the gorgeous silver fox. Still waiting on the jet and yacht. But hey, love wins.
And so, while waiting for my next boarding call, Indulge Divulge began to wander.
It became my little scrapbook of life’s enhancements – career hints (my work-bliss), travel kicks (my buzz), décor tips, culinary trips, a spot of inspirational guff, a few personal confessions and, naturally, the odd epic fail thrown in for giggles.
You’ll still find all of those tucked away in various corners of the blog.
But these days, travel has well and truly claimed the window seat.
Indulge Divulge is about seeing the world with curiosity, humour and eyes wide open. Yes, you’ll find the famous sights and fabulous places – but I’m equally fascinated by the things other travellers might walk straight past.
The tiny details. The hidden corners. The quirky history. The fabulous food. The people you meet. The unexpected discoveries. And those delicious little moments that somehow become the stories you remember long after the suitcase has been unpacked.
I travel. I photograph. I poke around. I ask questions. I hunt down the quirky bits. I occasionally get lost.
Then I come home and relive the whole glorious adventure by writing about it here.
Because for me, travel isn’t simply about where you go.
It’s about what you notice while you’re there.
So have a wander. Follow my latest adventures, rummage through my curious finds, pinch a handy hint or two, discover something delicious and perhaps find a little inspiration for an adventure of your own.
And to everyone who has followed, commented, shared, encouraged and travelled alongside Indulge Divulge since that first European adventure – thank you. What started as a little travel diary for friends and family has become something I could never have imagined back in 2011.
Comments are always welcome; stories are meant to be shared, and there is far too much world left to indulge in…
and divulge about.
Jane x
