Thing is, I’d let myself down. I had failed to live by my personal charter of being a positive influence, a level headed, calm, collected role model for the team. Yep. Time to apologise. And I thank Eleanor Roosevelt (1884 – 1962) for that. Why? Flipping through an old Frankie magazine I came across several quotes for which she is famed:

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent

A woman is like a tea bag – you can’t tell how strong she is until you put her in hot water

You must do the thing you think you cannot do

Damn that woman had a point (or three). A week of serious reflection, contemplation and analysis of the right thing to say; a solid apology crafted, possibly aided by a little wine self medication, all quite an exhaustive business really. And then I came across this little gem:

Amen to that sister! And I just know my colleagues would concur.
